SilverStone, a leading provider of high quality computer cases, fans, PSUs, and other accessories, is now offering a blacked out version of their Hi-Fi Audio Headphone Stand in their Ensemble Series Audio lineup. The EBA01B is made of solid aluminum, with a 2cm thick base and weighing in at 3.26 pounds, and features the ability to hold up to two large headsets/headphones.

In this short review, I’ll be looking at how well this stand performs at holding multiple headsets, as well as it’s build quality.

Features & Specifications

■ Sensual styling touches with all aluminum design

■ Designed for holding up to two headphones simultaneously

■ Beautifully rounded hanger evenly distributes headphone weight

For this review, I’ll be testing this stand’s abilities with the Audio-Technica ATH-A700s and the ATH A900x. As you can see in the above photo, the SilverStone Hi-Fi Headphone Stand has plenty of clearance below the headphones, so that your cord doesn’t get mashed against the base.

(Audio-Technica ATH-A900x and ATH-A700 respectively) Even with two large headsets, I don’t feel the stand is cramped at all. The only downside being that you would need to remove the set in the front to reach the set in the back. If you had smaller can headphones or a set of headphones where the cans fold flat (such as the AT ATH-M50x), then you would be able to fit 3 or maybe even 4 sets of headphones on this stand comfortably.

Headphone Stand Final Thoughts

The SilverStone EBA01B Hi-Fi Audio Headphone Stand is a well crafted headphone holder implicit of SilverStone’s expertise in crafting aluminum.  This headphone stand was designed with headphone enthusiasts in mind, in both it’s shape and it’s functionality.

SilverStone Hi-Fi Audio Headphone Stand Conclusion

SilverStone describes the EBA01B as having “sensual styling”. I don’t know how sensual it is, but is an attractive design that looks good and would pair nicely with your high end headphones. Some may find the upper deck to be a bit large, but this is due to ability to hold 2 or more sets of headphones.

Solid aluminum, and when I say solid, I mean solid. This headphone stand weighs over 3 pounds by itself. I don’t see any set of headphones outlasting this stand. With it’s 2cm base and it’s shear mass, this stand will be something you hand down to your children one day. Given how weighted the base is, no headphones will be able to topple it over without some significant external forces.

As for functionality, it’s a headphone stand. Does it hold headphones? Yes. But what sets the EBA01B apart from it’s competitors is that it holds more than one set of headphones, that’s where the price to value equation starts making more sense.

The value is the only area where it might be a hindrance for this stand. With a price tag of $71.54 (Amazon), the EBA01B is higher than other similar products. Although, being that it is solid aluminum (thick aluminum at that) and that it can hold two sets of large headphones, the EBA01B really stands apart from it’s competitors. Essentially you’re getting the ability to hold twice the amount of headphones for about a $13 increase in price. There are some cheaper options out there for aluminum headphone stand, but you get what you pay for.

If you’re a headphone enthusiast/audiophile, then this is a stand you definitely want to consider. For the average Joe who owns maybe one set of headphones, then you may not want to invest in such a high end headphone stand as there are similar (although not as well constructed) options available.

Pros:

+ Heavy headphone stand (won’t tip over)
+ Solid aluminum
+ Multiple finish options
+ Can hold multiple sets of headphones

Cons:

– Price

Ratings:

  • Performance: 9.50
  • Appearance: 9.50
  • Construction: 9.50
  • Functionality: 9.50
  • Value: 8.00

Final Score: 9.25 out of 10.
