What's the Best Calendar App for Families?

I’m really struggling to keep track of my family’s busy schedules. Between work, school, sports, and other activities, it’s becoming overwhelming. We need a calendar app that’s easy for everyone to use, can sync across multiple devices, and has reminders. Any recommendations?

I’ve been in the same boat trying to manage our family’s crazy schedules. After trying a bunch of different apps, we finally settled on Cozi Family Organizer. It’s super user-friendly, syncs across all our devices, and has pretty handy reminders.

What’s great about Cozi is that it lets everyone access the calendar from their own device, so kids can check their own schedules too. You can color-code events for each family member, making it easy to see who’s doing what at a glance. And the reminders are a lifesaver!

Another feature that’s been a game-changer is the shopping list integration. We used to forget so many things when shopping, but now we just add it to the list in Cozi and whoever goes to the store has everything right there.

I have also heard good things about Google Calendar because you can create multiple calendars and share them, plus it integrates well with other Google services. But for families, Cozi’s extra features aimed specifically at family life are unbeatable, IMO.

Of course, every family is different, so maybe try out both and see what fits better? Happy scheduling!

I totally feel you on this one! Managing family schedules can be like herding cats. Been through something similar and after a bunch of trials, our family landed on Microsoft Family Safety. It’s a bit different from what @sterrenkijker mentioned with Cozi Family Organizer.

Firstly, Microsoft Family Safety isn’t JUST a calendar app; it also has location sharing, screen time tracking for kids’ devices, and driving safety reports. So, it’s like an all-in-one family management tool. The calendar part syncs smoothly across all our devices (Android, iOS, Windows), and setting reminders is straightforward.

One thing we found especially handy is the feature that lets you schedule and manage screen time for kids. With online schooling and the endless array of activities they get into on their devices, it’s awesome to have some control over that.

Regarding color-coding like Cozi, you don’t get the same vibrant visual cues specifically for each family member’s activities, which might be a con if you’re a more visual planner. But the integration with other Microsoft services like Outlook and OneNote can make up for it, especially if you’re already in that ecosystem.

Lastly, while the shopping list isn’t as integrated as Cozi, using OneNote alongside for shared lists can do the trick pretty well. We just share a OneNote notebook and update our shopping list there.

Every family’s needs are unique, so checking out both Cozi and Microsoft Family Safety to see which fits your workflow better is a solid idea. Happy organizing!
