SilverStone is well known for producing innovative and quality chassis designs. They have created the Fortress and Raven chassis series with a ninety degree motherboard rotation, the massive Mammoth, and the premium Crown HTPC lineup, amongst many others. Now they’ve released what is being called a pair of “Case Storage” mini-itx cases. From the product description, the CS series was built “To meet increasing demand for cloud and local storage needs, SilverStone created the CS01 case to enable users to build sophisticated and user-friendly system.”
Two versions of the anodized black CS01B computer case exist, one with a mesh top and the option to install two 2.5″ and two 3.5″ drives. The second is the CS01B-HS, which removes the pair of 3.5″ drives in favor of six hot-swappable 2.5″ bays. Also included in both models is a single 120mm air penetrator fan, one expansion slot, and a sturdy aluminum construction throughout. SilverStone is not intending this to be used for gaming, but rather for an office environment. In this article for Benchmark Reviews, we will specifically look at the CS01B-HS version, deciding whether or not SilverStone has succeeded in creating such a product, and then deliver an overall rating.

Wow, that is a nice looking case.
Silverstone really has a great design team, or at least one that speaks to my design ethos……

This case shout loudly “I am NAS Case” and that right this case is for NAS DIY but if SS fit four 3.5″ in stead of six 2.5″ it will be the bast ever NAS for home. And where is the final built I can’t see how can motherboard+ Power supply + RAID card become in side this case.

Yeah, I’d like to see a build of a case. 68mm of heatsink clearance means I may not be able to fit an Arctic Alpine M1 heatsink along with an ASRock AM1H-ITX motherboard into the case. Make it 5mm longer and I would gladly pay for it.

I just want a case that fits:
1x 3.5″
1x 2.5″
SFF Graphics Card
Mini ITX
Small enough to carry in my luggage, and that doesn’t look like it was designed by a 14 year old kid (with ugly plastic angles everywhere)
The lack of 3.5″ is a deal breaker for so many cases. 2.5″ drives are too slow and too expensive, unless you are getting and SSD.
